Small Business?

I am in UK and for some time planning to start some small business from my home with my present job and if successful I take it as full time and leave my job.
Some ideas come to my mind like start some Internet or ebay business and trust on the wholesalers or dropshippers.
Or, contact some wholesalers and sell from home with local ads etc. But I am still not clear that this is a good idea and which products I can sell.
Is there any one who can guide me for some small business which I could start from home in the beginning?
Or any good idea which could help me to start any small business? Hope the community can help me with some good ideas and guidance.

Why doesn’t Dallas buy the Cowboys for $1billion, instead of a new stadium for the same ?

The Cowboys are valued near that dollar figure, and the franchise will last far more than the expected shelf life of 20-25 years for the stadium. Green Bay owns the Packers, and will never have to worry about them making threats and overtures… why doesn’t every other NFL city follow suit? It seems like the far superior economic choice, and so I’m wondering why the CEO types that run the NFL host cities never seem to consider the possibility.

By the way, I’m not saying the the Cowboys threatened to leave or anything… that seems highly unlikely, but you never know… but it is a common ploy for many teams desiring new stadium deals.

(My hometown Colts just got a $500M stadium, and I wish the public contribution was for their purchase, not for their new home, as nice as it looks like it will be.)

franchise lawsuit?

we bought a franchisee jan of 06. we pretty got lied to when buying the business. now there is a legal lawsuit on 4 of the franchisees regarding unethical behavior. now the shopowners before us already had one or a couple of warnings about the unethical work. then we bought the shop and weren’t aware about this. then one of our guys got caught not ‘doing’ the job but ‘chargin’ for it..we were not aware of it. and that is not my way of doing business. i was very unfamiliar about the way this franchise works and their system. but i got into it and now i can’t even sell it. however what our guy did was rather minimal compared to the other. the other shops have had several warning. now the lawyer assigned by the franchior wants to take all our cases together. if we get a penalty all of us get a penalty. so i want to know whether i should get my own lawyer because i should also get a warning like the rest of the shops did before i am entitled to a penalty etc..any suggestions…

Xbox 360 vs Playstation 3 which one should I buy?

My PS2 died on me, i already have a few PS2 and PS1 games in my library. (I still haven’t finished Final Fantasy 7,8 Chrono Cross, or Metal Gear Solid 1,2,3 yet). Part of me wants to go buy the $600 playstation 3 with the metal gear solid 4 bundle on ebay since that one is the only one still around thats backwards compatible. But part of me really wants to get a Xbox 360, i like some of the choice in games they have on the Xbox Live Arcade, plus a TON of my friends have one a play online so part of me would like to do the same. I know the game franchises better on the PS3 but I LOVE the HUGE online community Xbox Live has. I hope to one day own both but right now i can only get one, but im torn between the two. Which one should i buy?
BTW the only other reason im on the fence about the 360 is the red ring of death. I’ve heard too many stories about having to send it in. My friends just died last week! Plus i hear the failure rate is MUCH higher on 360’s than PS3.
